After School Program
He Brought Us Out Tutoring/Supplemental Educational Services (SES) is provided during the school year to improve the academics of children who are at risk of failing their classes, and/or need to improve their current academic performance. We strive to improve each student’s academic level, with the overall goal being to raise the percentage of students passing the proficiency exams that attend the Akron Public Schools, private schools and home schoolers.
Financial Literacy
This program is designed to educate individuals regarding their credit history and instructs individuals on how to rebuild damaged credit, maintain good credit, make smart income choices, maintain positive choices when budgeting, avoid predatory lenders, know signs and symptoms of identity theft, how to set up checking and savings accounts, know what a credit score is and how it affects an individual, how to properly manage credit cards, homeownership, retirement, investing and insurance information. This seminar is sponsored by HSBC-North America and is free to all participants.
Food Bank
The North Hill Community House, in conjunction with The Akron – Canton Regional Food Bank provides assistance to low income families that are in need of groceries and food.
Summer Camp
The components of the Building Blocks Enrichment Program include creative movement, music, art projects, health and wellness activities, computer skills, fundamental educational skills, career and trade choices, life skills activities, and awareness and prevention programs. The program is aligned with He Brought Us Out Ministry’s mission to affect the City of Akron by providing educational services that will enrich people’s lives, and in turn, enrich the community. The program serves children from the ages of 6-14 years old and runs from June through August.
Community Outreach
The lunch program is during the summer months for children in the community to enjoy a free meal during the lunch time hours. This program lasts for 8-weeks and runs from July through August. Please feel free to contact our office for more information as it pertains to this program.
